Are your pieces the genuine article?
100% yes - they are all 100% genuine!
We know there are plenty of fakes out there, but we sure as heck don’t stock them! The real deal is the real deal for a reason. Each and every piece that Kennedy Purple holds has been bought direct from the designer themselves, or from one of their recommended retailers (ie. Harvey Nichols). If you need a little re-assurance please get in touch and we can forward you proof of purchase, and/or authenticity cards where possible. Further to this, all Kennedy Purple items have hidden identification on them to ensure that the item we send out is the one we get back. You can’t be too careful afterall.

What’s the difference between paid and unpaid membership?
As soon as you sign up to hire an item you automatically become a member of Kennedy Purple – lucky you! The main difference between paid and unpaid membership is how we charge for the bags. If you are a paid member (£15 per month) then we will only charge the hire price before we send the bag out to you. If however, you would rather not pay every month then it’s no problem, but when you hire an item we reserve the right to authorise the full value price of the item on your credit card. This amount (minus the cost of hire) will be refunded as soon as the bag has arrived back with us.
Paid members do not have to pay postage costs when their item is posted. They do pay postage for its return, but we then send a discount voucher to them for the postage price paid which can be used against their next purchase. Unpaid members pay all postage costs.
Paid members can hire up to 3 items at a time. Unpaid members can hire 1 item at a time.
Paid members also get exclusive discounts, offers, previews and even some free goodies from time to time.

Can I hire more than 1 item at a time?
As many of our items beautifully match some of our other pieces, then yes you can....if you are a paid member. Paid members can hire up to 3 items at a time, and this will increase after 6 months membership if requested and at our discretion. Non-paying members can hire 1 item at a time - please make sure you understand the way our charge system works for non-paying members.

Can my item be delivered to a work or friends address?
All items must and can only be sent to the address your payment method is registered to. It’s a security thing.

Where do you ship to?
Kennedy Purple is based in the UK and we ship to any address in the UK.
However, we may ship further afield in the future. If this is of interest please get in touch. For your first few hires we can only deliver to your billing address - the address you payment card is registered to.

How much does delivery cost?
Paid members don’t pay to have the bag delivered, but do pay for its return. Once the item is back with us we will reimburse the postage paid by way of a discount on your next hire. So basically...postage works out free both ways!
Unpaid members do need to pay the postage costs.
We will be using Royal Mail for delivery...for the time being at least.

When will I receive my item?
Using our diary function you can choose the first day of your hire period...and this is the day that the item will arrive.

What payment methods do you accept?
For security reasons we only accept all major credit or debit cards. If this doesn’t suit you, we will try and help – just drop us a line!

What’s the best way for me to care for my item?
Whilst we really do want you to get as much pleasure as possible from your rental...we would ask that you look after it.
It’s mostly about common sense...and we think when you receive them you’ll love them and look after them accordingly. If relevant we will send with the item a list of care instructions and suggestions, but if you have any questions just ask us. When it comes to the handbags, we would ask that you don’t leave anything in them that could stain the lining...and to help with this, for most of them we will send you out a make-up bag to keep your lipsticks in check. And because we’re a giving kind of bunch...the make-up bag is then yours to keep! Please, please don’t use the bags to carry food or drink. And be wary of pens...their lids have a habit of coming off when rolling round the bottom of a bag. Swines!

What if the item I have hired arrives damaged?
We truly hope that this will never happen!
Each item is thoroughly checked before it leaves Kennedy Purple towers. We wouldn’t send something out that we wouldn’t be happy to hire ourselves. However, in this unlikely event please contact us immediately and we’ll do what we can to help.

What if the item gets damaged whilst in my possession?
Accidents will happen...and we understand that.
If an item gets damaged when you have it out on hire, please contact us right away. We will then most likely ask you to return it to us immediately for us to assess and where possible, repair. As it states in our Terms & Conditions, if one of our pieces is damaged whilst in your possession you will then have to pay for its repair, and we will advise you of this amount as soon as we can. We do recommend that for the duration of your hire you temporarily add your hired slice of gorgeousness to your home insurance – particularly with high value items. We can advise you of the value by request.

What happens if an item I hire gets lost or stolen?
First and foremost... please let us know immediately.
If in the unfortunate case that this happens you will be liable for the full replacement cost of the piece. When the item is irreplaceable you will be charged the full RRP of the item. We do recommend you temporarily add the item to your insurance for the duration of the hire period – particularly if it's a high value item. We can advise you of the value if requested. Also, if the bag is stolen we recommend you report it to the police and get a crime reference number.

Can I keep my hired item for longer than I originally booked?
Where possible, of course you can. Just get in touch with us a few days before the item is due to be returned and we will let you know how long you can extend your hire period for. We will do this where possible, but if there is a hire straight after yours we may not be able to accommodate your request.

What if I love the item I hire so much I don’t want to say goodbye?
If you hire a piece from us and want to keep it forever please contact us at customerservice@kennedypurple.com We understand that it’s hard to let go of beautiful things and if possible we will give you the opportunity to purchase the item. Alternatively you may be able to extend your hire period. If you would like to do this then please e-mail your request to us as soon as you can.

Can I place my order over the phone? The internet scares me a little.
We’ve worked hard to make our site as user friendly as possible, but if you’re stuck please drop us an e-mail and we’ll either reply, or if you provide a contact number we'll give you a buzz and talk you through placing your order online - then hopefully you’ll know for next time too. If there's anything you think we should do to make Kennedy Purple life easier for you, please let us know and we'll see what we can do to rectify it.

Do I need to pay VAT?
At the moment...no. We are currently not registered for VAT, but this is likely to change in the future. However we will do what we can to not let this affect our prices and will not charge VAT separately.

I want to hire an item...like right now!
Using our booking diary you can choose the start date for your hire. If you want your item in the day or two following your order we will do our best to get it to you straight away but hope you understand that isn't always possible. We will keep you posted each step of the way.

What if I spot a gorgeous bag/accessory/piece of jewellery I want to rent, but you don’t stock it?
We’ve tried our best to accommodate as many occasions and tastes as possible, but we are fully aware of just how many beautiful designer goodies there are out there, so if you would like to request that we get a specific item in stock please contact us using the details below. We can’t promise anything, but all requests will be considered.

When will you be purchasing new stock?
We currently stock over 150 items, and we hope that’s plenty for now. However, fashion changes all the time and we aim to keep as up to date as we can. Each time we have new stock we will let our newsletter subscribers know and highlight them on our home page.

Can I buy a gift voucher for a friend?

Are you a registered company?
We sure are. Kennedy Purple was registered with companies house in Scotland in 2009 and is a Limited Company.

Can I opt out of receiving your newsletter?
Yes you can. We’ll be sad to see you go, but every newsletter we send out will include an unsubscribe option at the bottom. If you find you miss us dreadfully you can re-subscribe at any time.

What if I want to cancel my paid membership?
Well that would of course be a shame, but if you decide to cancel please get in touch with us at least 7 days before your next standing order payment is due in order for us to cancel it in time that your next payment is not taken from your account. Membership can only be cancelled once all items you have out on hire have been returned to Kennedy Purple towers safe and sound.
